At Momentum, creating value extends beyond the services we deliver. It also means investing in our communities and helping to create opportunities for future generations.

This commitment is reflected in our ongoing partnership with JINC, an organisation that supports young people from under-represented backgrounds as they prepare to enter the world of work.

Since launching our collaboration in 2025, Momentum colleagues have volunteered their time and expertise through a variety of initiatives, including mock interviews, role-playing exercises, and workplace immersion experiences.

Sharing our passion for hospitality

It all started in 2025, when colleagues across several bases took part in programmes designed to introduce young people to the professional world.

In London, our colleagues Deborah, Xavier and Laetitia welcomed students for a flash internship, offering an engaging introduction to different aspects of life at Momentum. Through interactive activities and discussions, students gained first-hand insight into what it means to work at Momentum such as welcoming passengers in the Eurostar Premier Lounges and onboard, or taking care of customers in First Class and at the Eurostar Café, and, overall, creating a comfortable and memorable travel experience.

As the partnership grew, our colleagues became increasingly involved. In Brussels, interview preparation and workplace role-playing exercises helped young people practise professional interactions. In Amsterdam, our colleagues Charlotte, Anna and Mireya contributed to mock interview sessions, helping students strengthen their communication skills and prepare for future career conversations.

Together, these initiatives provided students with valuable exposure to the workplace while demonstrating Momentum’s commitment to supporting the next generation of talent.

An ongoing partnership

Building on the success of these early initiatives, Momentum has continued its support of JINC throughout 2026.

In Amsterdam, Anna and Jilissa recently participated in additional mock interview sessions.

Meanwhile, in London, Xavier, Deborah and Laetitia hosted another flash internship. This time they were joined by Saadicq and Nicholas, two crew members who shared their passion for the world of hospitality. The experience not only helped students explore potential career paths but also gave our colleagues the opportunity to step beyond their day-to-day roles, gain fresh perspectives and make a meaningful contribution to the local community.

Xavier said: ''It was really fun to prepare a workshop for teenagers and show them a glimpse of the Momentum hospitality. They were very enthusiastic about creating their own mocktails and came up with some very brilliant creations! Overall, it was an amazing experience I believe for us, as it was for them.''
Charlotte also shared: “Supporting students through this experience reminded us how powerful a small gesture can be. Helping them move closer to a brighter future, and knowing we played a part in that journey, is something we’re genuinely proud of. I am looking forward to doing it again and involving more colleagues.

As our partnership with JINC continues, we look forward to supporting even more students and encouraging greater colleague participation across our locations. By sharing our knowledge, experiences and time, we can help create opportunities, inspire ambition, and support a more inclusive future for the next generation.
